OPI Nails
Did you know that the OPI nails company actually started off as a dental supply business standing for Odontorium Products Inc. (www.opi.com)? Once founder George Schaeffer realized that the the acrylic porcelain used for dentures were a better material for acrylic nails, he moved over to the nail industry keeping the initials of his company but changing the name to OPI Products Inc. Over the past 30+ years, OPI has been bringing us amazing nail polish colors, fun names and consistently great products!
My all time favorite OPI nailpolish color is Miami Beet- a beautiful deep raspberry!

Christmas Sparkle Nails Tutorial
Check out my Christmas sparkle nails! I love it so much I can’t stop looking at my nails, haha. If you’ve been on Pinterest then you’ve probably seen nails like this before. Here’s how I created the look!
This is what I used to create the look. From left to right: O.P.I Natural Nail Base Coat, Seche Vite Top Coat, Essie Head Mistress, Sephora by OPI Look Like Rain Dear and Sephora by OPI Only Gold for Me Top Coat.
So first paint your nails like usual with a base coat and a couple coats of color. I love the gold sparkles on top of red for the Christmas season so I chose to use Essie Head Mistress. But any old red color (or any other color of your choice) will do! :]

Now the fun begins! Apply Sephora by OPI Only Gold for Me top coat from the top of your nails (nailbed) to about halfway down. You might want to apply a couple layers to get some more glitter on there. I found it a bit hard to getting the bigger glitter pieces on so it may take some time and patience.

You can stop here if you like the light sprinkles of glitter. If you want a bit more holiday oomph add Sephora by OPI Looks like Rain Dear to the top 1/4 to 1/3 of your nails. Key tip: keep the application very very VERY light! This nail polish is naturally very opaque so to create a nice gradient you’ll need a super super light application.

Once you’re happy with the glitter application, finish off with a layer of Seche Vite (or any) top coat! And viola~ you’re done!
What do you think? I love it! It actually looks even prettier in person. I’ll definitely be keeping my nails this way through Christmas!
Give it a go and let me know how you like it!
Wishing you a BEAUTYFULL Monday!

OPI We’ll Always Have Paris Nail Polish Swatch and Review
Hey everyone!
Don’t you love it when you discover a new favorite amongst the things that you already own? That’s how I’ve been feeling lately. For one, I’ve been reaching for Lancome L’Absolu Nu lipstick in Petal Pink everyday. While I wasn’t blown away when I first tried and reviewed it, I’m loving the pretty pale pink shade now. I wonder if it’s because my skin-tone has lightened a shade or two since the Summer. As for my nails, yesterday I fell in love with a polish that I’ve had for some time but have probably only worn once or twice. It’s OPI We’ll Always Have Paris from the 2008 La Collection De France collection.
We’ll always have Paris nail polish is a dark dark red with a plum-brown base. In certain lighting or from afar it can look almost black. The formula is opaque enough that I could get by with 2 coats for the most part. Some of my nails I had to top with a 3rd coat.
OPI We’ll Always Have Paris Swatch
One thing I didn’t really like was the brush. It felt much larger and fatter than most nail polish brushes making the edges of my nails more difficult to coat smoothly. I’ve noticed that OPI nail polish brushes are much larger than Essie nail polish brushes. I would personally prefer something in-between the two.
Something about OPI’s We’ll always have Paris really hits the spot for me. It’s such a beautiful dark warm red. It’s sophisticated yet edgy. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be wearing this shade for Thanksgiving dinner but I’m debating between this one or a new glittery brown polish that my little sister-in-law bought me from Korea. Decisions, decisions, haha.
Oh, so lately I’ve been good about keeping my nails nice and short but yesterday I was short on time so I didn’t trim my nails. Well lo and behold, today when I was closing my car door my hand slipped and my middle nail on my right hand broke!! Now I’m not saying that it chipped a bit, I mean that it ripped sideways causing a lot of pain but thankfully no blood. I currently have a bandaid on it so that it won’t catch on anything else making it rip more, but yeah gross, I know. I just thought I’d share that because I hate it when people look down on broken nail woes. It’s serious, people! Sometimes there’s even blood!! Any of you know what I’m talking about??
Anyway… enough of my ranting, haha!
I hope you’re all having an awesome Tuesday!

OPI Siberian Nights Swatch and Review
Hey everyone and happy Monday!
It’s actually sunny today here in Seattle which always puts me in a wonderful hopeful mood!
Are any of you out there Walking Dead fans? OMG, last night was crazy! If you haven’t seen it yet I won’t spoil it for you but let’s just say that I was wide-eyed, shocked and choked up near the end. I’m so glad that I finished painting my nails right before watching the new episode because I definitely would have had a horrible time multi-tasking through all the suspense and horror.
This week I brought out an oldie but a goodie (per Hubs’ recommendation). This polish is actually from OPI’s 2007 Russian Collection. It’s OPI’s Siberian Nights- a dark dark vampy purple that often looks black from afar and in certain lighting. On my skin-tone the purple looks more red-based whereas I’ve seen Siberian Nights on other ladies looking blue-based.
The formula is good- not too thick nor too watery. I only had to apply 2 coats and the natural finish is pretty shiny on it’s own. Of course that doesn’t mean that I skipped my base or top coat!
I’m not sure if you can still purchase OPI Siberian Nights but I’d recommend checking your neighborhood store or eBay.
This is such a fun vampy color for the Fall and Winter without having to go completely black. It always makes me feel like a chic rebel! haha
On a random note: my Sephora order JUST arrived so I’m super excited to open the box. I’ll snap a photo for you soon!
Hope your week is starting off BEAUTYFULLY!

Nail Party With My Girls
I love it when my girlfriends come over and we do our nails together. It’s such an awesome time to chat, laugh and have a wonderful girly time. Here’s what our nails look like this week!
I have on this mystery Sephora by OPI shade. I can’t seem to find the name for this one. It’s a tiny size so I’m assuming it must have come in a set. I’m borrowing this guy from my cousin and finally got a chance to try it out. It’s much more sheer than I thought so I think it would look pretty over another color too. Side note: love having short nails.
Bestie Jennifer has on a combo of OPI Bubble Bath topped with Sephora by OPI Traffic Stopper Copper. This would be a cute look for Valentine’s day too because of the copper pinkish glitter!
Newly engaged bestie Ellen has on a unique combination of Essie Hot Coco topped with Sephora by OPI Wild About Shimmer. I would have never thought to put these two colors together- so creative! I think it looks awesome especially for the Fall! She thought she looked like a beetle, haha.
I have to admit I was tempted to top my nails with another glitter coat but refrained. I swear I have an urge to top every nail color with glitter! :]
I’ll leave you with this cute picture from Pinterest. I know it’s not Friday but I couldn’t wait to share it with you. <3

Sephora by OPI Only Gold for Me Top Coat Review
I’m so in love with glitter nails right now! Can’t stop coating all my nails with glitter! hehe!
Here are my nails in Essie No More Film topped with Only Gold for Me top coat. The gold glitter looks silver under some lighting which gives nails a more cool tone look versus Sephora by OPI Traffic Stopper Copper which is a pink-copper glitter that gives off a warm look.
Application is easy since the top coat is clear. You just need to maneuver the brush to place the glitter where you want it
Sephora by OPI Jewelry Top Coat Only Gold for Me $9.50
While I’m loving Only Gold for Me, I’ve noticed my nails are chipping so much faster than normal these days… I’m thinking about trying a new base coat. I’m currently using the one from OPI but I’m thinking about switching over to Essie to see how that works.
What is your favorite base coat? Have you tried a glitter top coat yet? Let me know in the comments below.
Wishing you a wonderful morning!

Glitter Nails! Sephora by O.P.I Traffic Stopper Copper and Sephora Hey DJ!
I’ve grown up with 3 older cousins that always took care of me and were the sisters that I never had. They’d dress me up, do my hair and makeup, take photos and take me out for ice cream. I LOVED trying on different outfits and listening to their fashion advice. I practically only wore their hand-me-downs growing up too. Saved my mama a ton of money!
Well now days we try to meet up every 1-2 months for brunch or dinner to catch up. At our last cousins’ get together one of my cousins noticed that I had no polish on (which is apparently a rare sight these days) and she sat me down to do my nails- what a treat! All I had to do was sit still and try not to move my hands, haha. Here’s the end result! She did an awesome job, huh? I wish Hubs had the same skills… OH! And I wish he knew how to french braid my hair! How awesome would that be?! Anyway, I digress!
This is Sephora Hey DJ! topped with Sephora by O.P.I Traffic Stopper Copper top coat
I instantly fell in love with this nail polish combination. It reminds me of a twinkly night sky in a fairytale. Sephora Hey DJ is a dark dark violet that can almost look black from afar and OPI Traffic Stopper Copper a copper nail polish (small and large copper shade glitter in a clear top coat). I just checked Sephora and you can still buy both of these colors! I might have to go out and get these…
Sephora Collection Nail Lacquer Hey DJ! $4
SEPHORA by OPI Jewelry Top Coats Traffic Stopper Copper $9.50
One thing I was thinking about while my nails were being painted was the horror stories that I’ve heard about trying to remove glitter nail polish. Right now my nail polish seems to be chipping off pretty cleanly so the thought did cross my mind to just let it all completely chip off, haha. I also saw the foil method which I may end up trying out soon. If I do try the foil method for removing glitter nail polish I’ll be sure to snap some photos to share with you.
Have you tried any glitter nail polish yet? Which one is your favorite? I’d love to hear some recommendations! And is it really that hard to remove glitter nail polish??
Wishing you a SPARKLY day!

Essie Lady Like Swatch And Review in 764
Good morning friends!
The weather has been so lovely here in Seattle for the past couple of weeks! It always seems that our summers start way later than everyone else’s. It’s kind of sad though because the days are getting shorter and shorter. It’s beautiful to see the sunrise in the morning but it’s a reminder that soon I’ll be dropping Hubs off in the dark.
Well, you know what I do when I start to feel sad about losing the Summer. I start preparing myself for the Fall with fun beauty products! I have a handfull of Essie nailpolishes that I’ve been saving for the colder season so I’ll be slowly bringing these out for you. Today, I’ll be sharing with you Essie Lady Like.
Essie Lady Like Swatch
Essie Lady Like is an elegant soft mauve. Depending on the lighting sometimes it looks more pink, sometimes more mauve. It’s very pretty and work appropriate. And Lady Like sounds so attractive, no? While I find this shade lovely, some girls complain that this shade does not work with their skin-tone so you’ll need to test it out for yourself at the store.
The formula is great! It applies so smooth and not streaky at all. I only need to apply 2 layers. Essie nail polishes always last a long time on my nails probably 6-9 days if I use a base and top coat. I can’t believe that I never believed in Essie until this Summer! What on earth was I thinking?
Essie Ladylike does remind people of O.P.I Tickle my France-y but Lady Like is actually more pink and lavender while Tickle my France-y is more taupe.
This is my lightest new Essie Fall shade so the next ones to come will be deeper colors. I’m excited to share them with you!
As for the OPI Fall 2012 Germany collection, I’m pretty excited to try Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! which is a dark green-gray. Isn’t it beautyfull? This lovely swatch was taken by Scrangie.
What colors are you must excited for for your Fall nails? Do you like the nude Lady Like shade or the dark Nein Nein Nein OK Fine shade? Let me know in the comments below!
Hope you enjoyed my Essie Lady Like review!

OPI Glitzerland Swatch and OPI A Good Man-Darin Is Hard To Find Swatch + Wedding Festivities
Happy Tuesday everyone!
I can’t believe it’s Tuesday- I really feels like a Monday! This weekend was a complete blur with my bestie’s wedding but I’m so happy for her! I snapped a few photos while getting ready although I wasn’t able to capture anything after that point.
This is what we looked like before getting our hair styled!
I had to walk around the lobby just with these curls in my hair- must of looked pretty funny!
No makeup on here!
For our nails all the bridesmaids had on OPI A Good Man-Darin Is Hard To Find
It’s a strong red-base orange. More orange than Essie Geranium or OPI Red Lights Ahead…Where?.
It looked really good against our light peachy dresses.
OPI A Good Man-Darin Is Hard To Find Swatch
And on our feet we all had OPI Glitzerland
I absolutely love this golden-taupe shade for my toes. I think I’m going to have to order this one.
It’s from 2 years back so it may be a bit hard to find.
I have on the Steve Madden Glaare sandals in silver leather – so pretty right?
OPI Glitzerland Swatch
And lastly our final bridesmaid look!
Me and my best bud Jennifer who was my maid of honor for my wedding!
I love getting prettied up for weddings! Having someone style your hair and do your makeup is such a luxury. I realize that I only have a few more of these occasions to go so I’m going to treasure each one.
I hear there were so many other weddings this weekend! Were you at one of them? What’s your favorite part of the wedding? Let me know in the comments below.
Wishing you a BEAUTYFULL day!

ABD News: Volume 3 – August 16th, 2012
Good morning from ABD News- providing you with makeup and fashion news updates from around the globe!
Thanks for joining me this Thursday morning!
Are you a fan of 007? I sure am and so is O.P.I. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond series, O.P.I will be releasing a new polish around the same time that the newest Bond movie, Skyfall, comes out into theaters this Fall. This super special limited edition polish is more of a top coat with flakes of REAL GOLD in it, hence the higher price of $38 per bottle. (article/picture credits)
Let move on to the “NAKED” battle! Urban Decay has sent a letter to Victoria’s Secret demanding that they stop production and sales for their THE NAKEDS palette saying that they are copying their own NAKED palette. Victoria’s Secret is pushing back saying that their THE NAKEDS palette is based off of their panty line, “The Nakeds By Victoria’s Secret” and that the word “naked” is too broad for Urban Decay to claim. Both Urban Decay’s Naked palette and Victoria’s Secret’s “The Naked by Victoria’s Secret” line came out in the same year 2010. If I had to choose a side, I’d stand behind Urban Decay. Everyone in the makeup community knows Urban Decay’s Naked line but how many people know about The Nakeds by Victoria’s Secret? And now they are coming out with an eyeshadow palette named after their not-so-publicized panty line coincidentally after the huge success of Urban Decay’s Naked palette? I dunno, sounds suspicious to me. It’ll be up to the judge to decide who’s in the right! Click here for full article.
Victoria’s Secret The Nakeds Palette
And to end today’s news on a happy note, Laura Mercier has announced that they will be donating 100% of profits from 2 of their products in September to the Ovarian Cancer Fund in honor of Ovarian Cancer awareness month. What a great reason to purchase these two beauties- Bonne Mine Healthy Glow for Face & Cheeks Crème Colour Palette and Rose Hope Lip Glacé.
Would you want real gold flakes on your nails in honor of the James Bond series? If you were a judge, who would you rule in favor of- Urban Decay or Victoria’s Secret? Do Laura Mercier’s Bonne Mine Healthy Glow for Face & Cheeks Crème Colour Palette and Rose Hope Lip Glacé look like they’ll make your shopping list next month? Let me know in the comments below!

ABD News: Volume 1 – August 14, 2012
Good morning from ABD News- providing you with makeup and fashion news updates from around the globe!
Thanks for joining me this morning! I hope it’s off to a great start!
Let’s begin with the announcement that Michael Phelps, the most highly decorated Olympian in history, is now the newest spokesperson for Louis Vuitton! It’ll be interesting to see if we’ll be seeing Michael sporting some new Louie bags out and about town soon! Or if him being the new Louis Vuitton spokesman will increase their profits the next couple quarters particularly in the men’s department. On a side note: To see this LV bag on the ground so close to the tub makes me uneasy. I would never dare do that to my Louie!
(Source)
Next, Mariah Carey has signed on not only to be a judge for the next season of American Idol, but to join forces with O.P.I and launch her own nail polish collection. I picture lots of glamorous sparkles and bold colors to come but we’ll see come January of next year!
And for the last story of this morning- has Kristen Stewart’s unfaithfulness cost her her relationship with Balenciaga? There was some mystery behind whether Kristen would still be the face of Florabotanica fragrance campaign but sources are saying that all rumors are untrue.
Do you think that Kristen Stewart’s cheating scandal will negatively affect Balenciaga’s Florabotanica fragrance sales? Or do you think that her Twilight fans will be able to forgive and continue to support her? What Louis Vuitton bag do you think Michael Phelps will be seen carrying around? Any guesses on names that Mariah Carey will use for her new O.P.I collection? Let me know in the comments below!!
