My Favorite Night Time Lip Balms – Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and Rosebud Salve Review
Hey All!
How are you doing? I hope you’re feeling better than me. This whole weekend I’ve been feeling pretty off and today I don’t even want to move. So here I am, typing up my favorite night time lip balms post from bed! haha!
During the colder seasons my lips get super dry. So dry that in the morning when I open my mouth to brush my teeth I sometimes split the sides of my mouth – very painful! Then for the next couple days it hurts to eat, laugh or yawn. If I were smarter, I’d remember to apply one of my favorite lip balms every night to prevent that from happening. Fingers crossed that this season I’ll form a life long habit of ALWAYS applying lip balm on before going to sleep!
Here are my two all time favorite lip balms to wear to bed.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 $22.50
Rosebud Perfume Co. Rosebud Salve $6
So let’s start off with my Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment review! This is by far the most luxurious lip balm that I’ve tried and owned. I love the rich smooth application and the sweet lemony scent. It keeps my lips super moisturized all through the night! The down side is that it’s really expensive for $22.5 per tube. On top of that I find that because the texture is so soft and rich I can go through one tube pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the SPF 15 is wasted on me since I only wear it at night. I find the formula too fragile to carry around with me during the day. The photo above is the smaller size tube that I received as part of Sephora’s birthday gift this year. If it weren’t so expensive, the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment would definitely be my holy grail night time lip balm.
Here’s my price-friendly alternative! It’s the Rosebud Salve lip balm. Well technically it’s not just a lip balm. Here are some other Rosebud Salve uses: may relieve chapped lips and skin, diaper rash, blemishes, detergent burns and rough cuticles and may soften rough hands. I haven’t tried the other uses but I really like the Rosebud Salve as my night time lip conditioner. The texture is much lighter than the Fresh Suger Lip Treatment and still keeps my lips moisturized while I sleep. I also like the vaseline scent (reminds me of my childhood) and the cute vintage looking tin. It’s only $6 and it’s lasting me forever! While I don’t think I’d be devastated if I were to one day lose this, I really like it and prefer to use it at night.
How do I decide which one I’m using that night? I keep the Rosebud Salve on my bathroom counter and the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment by my bed. So it depends on where I am when I remember to moisturize my lips, haha.
Wishing you a healthy BEAUTYFULL Monday!
