Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara Review

Happy Monday everyone!

How was your weekend?  Mine went by SO fast, I can’t believe it’s Monday again.  I got to watch “The Impossible”, the movie based on the real life story of a family in Thailand during the tsunami.  I loved it and highly recommend it if you like survival movies that tug at the heart strings.  We also sent off my dear brother and sister-in-law back to New York. It was so great having them in town during the holidays.  I do wish they’d move back to Seattle soon… but in the meantime Hubs and I really need to take another trip out to the Big Apple. :]

Last week I shared with you my current favorite mascara, Covergirl Lash Perfection.  Well I received a sample of the Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara a week or so ago and decided to try it. Here are my thoughts!

The first thing that attracted me was the name “Doll Lashes”.  It made me think of big, open doe-eyes.

Here’s the description pulled from Sephora:

What it is:
A mascara that extends, lifts, and pumps up the volume to doll-like proportions of lashes.

What it does:
This mascara helps create Lancôme’s most flirtatious lash look. A new, unique, cone-shaped brush provides an extremely smooth application, precisely defining even your hard-to-reach corners and lower lashes. This expert formula lifts and thickens every single lash without weighing it down.

Here’s the special cone-shaped brush

My thoughts?  The only positive thing that I can really say about the Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara is that it does a good job creating a lot of volume on my lashes.  I did need to work out a few clumps especially when using the narrow point of the brush but more importantly it did not lengthen nor hold the curl of my lashes at all.  My lashes are thicker, yes,  but they droop down and don’t make my eyes very noticeable.  This mascara does not work for me. :[

However, I did read some other reviews and it sounds like this is great for those that already have long, naturally curled lashes.  Since it creates a lot of volume, I'm sure it'll work for you if you fall under that lucky category.  If you're like me and your lashes don't curl naturally nor are they super long, I'd recommend trying out the Covergirl Lash Perfection mascara.  And as a bonus, it's a LOT cheaper (around $7)!

I'm glad I got to sample Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara out before purchasing the full size tube because I would have had to return it.  I'll probably try topping this mascara on top of my Covergirl Lash Perfection to see if I can get a bit more volume on my lashes that way. :]

Have you tried the Lancome Hypnose mascara line yet?  How does it work for you?  What’s your favorite mascara right now?  Let me know in the comments below!

Wishing you an amazing Monday!

  • I'm a Lancôme mascara fan, used the Doll Lashes most of last year and this year I've changed to Hypnose Star which has an even better brush!
