Balenciaga (www.balenciaga.com) was founded in 1918 by Cristóbal Balenciaga in Spain. His boutiques were quite successful with the aristocrats but due to the Spanish civil war, he moved his company to France. In Paris, his revolutionary designs grew a cult following. Many huge designers worked for Balenciaga- Oscar de la Renta, Andre Courreges, Emanuel Ungaro, and his most famous and protégé Hubert de Givenchy. Cristóbal Balenciaga closed down his fashion house a few years before passing. It wasn’t until 1986 that Jacques Bogart SA acquired the rights of Balenciaga. Since then Balenciaga has made a huge comeback. Today, Balenciaga bags are worn by many Hollywood stars and coveted by tons of women including myself. Let’s begin with the announcement that Michael Phelps, the most highly decorated Olympian in history, is now the newest spokesperson for Louis Vuitton! It’ll be interesting to see if we’ll be seeing Michael sporting some new Louie bags out and about town soon! Or if him being the new Louis Vuitton spokesman will increase their profits the next couple quarters particularly in the men’s department. On a side note: To see this LV bag on the ground so close to the tub makes me uneasy. I would never dare do that to my Louie!

Next, Mariah Carey has signed on not only to be a judge for the next season of American Idol, but to join forces with O.P.I and launch her own nail polish collection. I picture lots of glamorous sparkles and bold colors to come but we’ll see come January of next year!
And for the last story of this morning- has Kristen Stewart’s unfaithfulness cost her her relationship with Balenciaga? There was some mystery behind whether Kristen would still be the face of Florabotanica fragrance campaign but sources are saying that all rumors are untrue.

Balenciaga Giant City Gold Hamilton in Bordeaux
I’ve been interested in Balenciaga handbags for a while now and once in a while browse online. Today I discovered this beauty! This is the Balenciaga Giant City Gold Hamilton in the color Bordeaux. Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous? I love love love this color and could see myself using this bag forever. Unfortunately it’s pretty expensive…. like $1945 expensive… I guess it’s time to start saving, eh? haha
Now before I saw this beauty, I’ve been wanting the classic City in black. I just feel like it’s so classic- it’ll never go out of style! This ones a bit more “affordable” at $1545.
And this is a photo of Nicole Richie that I love- she’s holding this bag and makes it look so good!
