A Cute Beach/Travel Tote

Happy Tuesday ladies! It was bright and beautiful here in Seattle today – a rare treat for us indeed!  I wish I could say that I took advantage of the rare appearance of Mr. Sunshine and soaked up some vitamin D but I haven’t been feeling too energetic so my evening was spent watching Mission Impossible 3. Random, huh?  Anyway, on to today’s post!

Do you have a favorite bag that you travel with?  That’s what I’m currently on the hunt for.  Here’s what I find important in a travel bag.  First of all, it needs to be light weight.  When I travel, I know I’m going to be walking a lot and the last thing I need is for my shoulders to ache from carrying around my bag!  Secondly, it needs to be low-maintenance.  This means my high-end leather purses get to stay home where it’s safe!  My travel bag will be stuffed under the airplane seat, tossed around on the beach and who knows where else?  Lastly, I want the main compartment to zip up! Ever have your bag tips over and everything spill out? Terrible!

SO here are some potentials that I’ve found over the last week.

I’ve fallen in love with Dooney and Bourke’s Nylon bags!  The interior of all of their bags are a bright bright hot pink and I LOVE IT!! ~drooool~

Dooney and Bourke Nylon Large Grommet Shopper $198
Love the shape of this bag and that you can put it over your shoulder. On the downside, you can ONLY carry it on your shoulder- not crossbody option available.

Dooney and Bourke Nylon Vanessa Bag $188
I love that there is an extra large strap that you can attach to carry this around crossbody…(My favorite way to carry a bag while traveling) AND don’t you just ADORE that green???

And lastly, I’ve recently discovered the cult following of Longchamp Le Pliage bags- I’m late on the wagon, I know. I’ve been OBSESSED with the thought of buying one… I so want it in red and beige – sigh.  It looks incredibly light, durable and perfect for the summer.

And folded up! How convenient!

Longchamp ‘Le Pliage – Large’ Tote Bag $145
This bag is ultra-light and look! It folds up so it’ll be easy to store into my suitcase if I don’t need it!

So many choices!! Which bag do you like? Do you have any recommendations for good travel/beach bags?  Let me know in the comments!!

Sephora’s Chic Week 15% Off!

I’m so excited to be back posting again without the fear of my posts disappearing forever!!  We have lots to catch up on, yes??

Let’s see- Last weekend, Max and I booked our HONEYMOON!!! Woohoo!!  That combined with all of the fun Spring/Summer wear that has taken over the mall has put me into high-gear honeymoon shopping mode!  So far, I’ve bought a few new swimsuits and maxi-dresses.  I foresee a haul post coming shortly… hopefully… hehe.  My next targets are a cute travel/beach tote and sandals.  I’M SO EXCITED!!!

Today, I wanted to share with you what I’ve bought so far with Sephora’s 15% off promo.  If you haven’t taken advantage of this yet, I highly recommend that you do since Sephora (and makeup in general) RARELY ever go on sale.  You can order online and enter the code “CHIC” at checkout until the 21st of April. icon biggrin Sephoras Chic Week 15% Off!

My Current Favorite Youtube Beauty Guru

**Reposting! I was experiencing technical difficulties during the past couple weeks and this post got deleted!! O__O  Luckily, Max was able to find the content again, but here you go in case you missed it!

?If you grew up around the same time I did, you might remember this guy…

Screen shot 2011 04 05 at 9.42.02 PM1 My Current Favorite Youtube Beauty Guru
Yup, that’s Mr. Bob Ross – the famous painter from PBS. Oh the
memories of watching him paint that “happy little tree” or “beat the devil
out of the brush”. Watching him paint was so therapeutic. He made you
feel like you could paint just like him with the flick of the wrist. Now why
am I bringing him up? I realize that many women in our beauty community
also find makeup tutorials “therapeutic”. I can see the similarity of applying
makeup and painting… and they’re both so much fun and BEAUTYFULL!
hehehe

I’ve been wanting to feature my favorite Youtube beauty gurus for quite
some time now so here goes! Today I want to feature my newest favorite
youtuber:

<3 BlushingPixie <3

(Screen shot taken from her youtube channel. I hope she doesn’t mind!)
She is so so beautiful and I love watching her videos. She is also very
eloquent which is actually one of the factors that I’m finding very important
when it comes to my fav youtubers. I highly recommend you check out her
youtube page or her blog.
Now every time that I discover a new youtuber that I love, I get inspired
to purchase several of the same products that they use in their
tutorials. After watching her Nars Blush Review + Swatches video (also
the screen shot above) I HAD HAD HAD to buy the blush and lipstick that
she was wearing! Oh one other thing that I appreciate about her is that she
always posts everything that she has on for each video! Woohoo!

Nars Desire – $28 at Sephora

Isn’t it just gorgeous?? It’s a bright cotton candy pink! Don’t worry- it
doesn’t show up as brightly on the cheeks! I was looking for a new bright
blush for the Spring and I think this is PERFECT! The blush was pretty
easy to find. I just popped by my neighborhood Sephora and they had it in
store. Now the lipstick was a different story. The one that I HAD to have
was MAC’s limited edition All Styled Up. For this one, I had to search on
Ebay and order. Once I it arrived, I knew it was well worth it!

MAC All Styled Up

I’ll try to get a swatch out for you soon but it’s a very wearable pink with
blue undertone. This plus Nars Desire go perfectly together like two peas
in a pod! hehehe! If you want, I know there are a few more available on
Ebay right now and they’re not too marked up relative to other limited
edition lipsticks.
There are a few more products that are on my list that I can’t wait to get my
hands on… but I’ll post more as I hunt them down.
Do you find the urge to buy all the products that your favorite makeup
gurus by?? Or maybe it’s just me? Let me know!!Happy Tuesday Everyone!
