L’OCCITANE & MAC Purchases and Brown Eyes FOTD
I hope you had a beautyfull Thanksgiving! It snowed a lot in Seattle on Monday so I had a white Thanksgiving. Yay, I love the warm exciting feeling that the holidays bring, especially with white snow blanketing the streets! One thing that I don’t appreciate though is all the dangerous roads and terrible traffic that the snow causes. It took Max and me 4 hours to get home on Monday night from downtown Seattle! It was crazy seeing all the cars slipping and sliding on the icy hills. Thankfully, I was able to work from home for the rest of the week! Anyway, I hope you were safe this week and got to spend lots of time with loved ones eating lots of delicious food!! YUM!
SO! On to the makeup-
I just wanted to share with you my tiny haul from the Seattle Premium Outlet. I actually bought this a week ago (not on black Friday).
I found my new favorite bath product: L’OCCITANE Green Tea Sugar Fizzy Cubes!! They were selling them in sets of 3 for $6.30. Wow,what a deal! I decided to stock up and now I keep them in a glass jar in my bathroom.
My next purchase was from the CCO (Cosmetic Company Outlet). I was super excited to find MAC Sorcery because I regretted not picking it up while it was in the stores. One of the MAC makeup artists had a beautyfull eye look, when I asked what colors she was wearing she said Sorcery! I’d describe the color as a deep brown with hints of red. I’m excited to play around with it.
Okay- lastly, I wanted to post a face of the day with brown smokey eyes. Well it’s more like eye look of the day since I didn’t really do much with the rest of my face. I’ve been playing around with the brown smokey eye look so here are some pictures for you.
Products used are Urban Decay Stray Dog, MAC Mystery, MAC Brule & Shroom and Fiberwig Mascara.
For the first time since I can remember I didn’t make a single purchase on Blakc Friday. Were you able to pick something up??

Urban Decay Neutral Eyeshadows Haul
**Update: Who knew that “coming soon” meant 2 years later? haha!
My Urban Decay eyeshadow swatches are finally up now.

While I was on my cruise, one of the girls brought along the Urban Decay Book of Shadows 2 which truly ignited my love for Urban Decay eyeshadows! My only previous experience with Urban Decay eyeshadows is the Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box which I wasn’t too much of a fan of. I thought that the eyeshadows were too glittery and the only color that I loved was Sin. I turned away from Urban Decay and became pretty loyal to MAC. WELL, on the cruise I tried out my friend’s palette and I loved how pigmented and silky they felt on application. I knew I had to buy some for myself and the Sephora 20% event was the perfect opportunity.
So, why didn’t I pick up the NAKED palette? For one, I can’t find it anywhere- for a decent price that is. I know that people are selling the NAKED palette on Ebay for an arm and a leg so that was not an option for me. Also, I find that when I purchase palettes, there are always a couple (or several) colors that go unused. Yes, it’s the cheaper route but I think that it’s better for me to purchase only the eyeshadows that I know that I will use and love.
Here are the eyeshadows that I chose. Of course, I stuck with neutrals.

Hope you’re having a beautyfull Saturday!

Thank God for Coffee Beans
One of the hardest beauty products to shop for is perfume. I’m sure you all probably know what I’m talking about. To find the perfect scent that defines you, you have to go through 20+ other scents. And once you find a great scent, the journey is not over, my friend. You have to actually test it out for the day to see how the chemicals work with your skin. I don’t know why, but the past month or so I’ve been obsessed with finding a new perfume for the winter. My poor poor nose and head. After many days of sniffing different perfumes, whiffing some good coffee beans and then testing them out for the day, here are the finalists that I had narrowed down to in no particular order.
Note: I know I said I was looking for a winter scent… but I think I just like lighter summer fragrances better.
Chloe Chloe
D&G #3
Michael Kors Very Hollywood
Marc Jacobs Lola
Vera Wang Bouquet
D&G Rose the One
I really wanted to take advantage of Sephora’s 20% off so I decided to get….
TA-DA! Chloe Chloe!
$85 at Sephora
The scent is described as a smooth floral scent that evokes powdery rose. To me, it’s not as light as my other summer scents like Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue or Burberry The Beat. This one smells deeper and more feminine- a more winter scent relative to my other perfumes.
What are my other perfumes?
I currently own, Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, Burberry The Beat, Clean Shower Fresh, Nanette Lapour and Versace Bright Crystal.
A couple extras that I have recently aquired:
I purchased the Lola rollerball perfume. AND to my luck, they were giving the mini version of Michael Kors Very Hollywood as a 100 point prize at Sephora. Woohoo! I was really struggling with the decision between Chloe and MK Very Hollywood. It’s awesome when things work out like that!
What is your signature winter perfume?

Trans-Siberian Orchestra- MAC Humid Eyeshadow
My sweet boyfriend took me out last Saturday and I wanted to blog about it before a whole week had passed. We had happy hour at a small hole in the wall lounge in Seattle and then went to go see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Having never heard of this orchestra, I went in with no expectations except knowing that I’d be listening to Christmas music. Wow, was it a show. There were lasers, fire and crazy talented guitarists head banging their long flowy rocker hair. It was quite an experience and I’m so glad that I got to share that with Maximus! Thank you!!
By now, you probably know that I like to stick with my neutral colors. But on Saturday I thought Hey- I’m going out, let’s have some fun experimenting with colors! I busted out my neglected Humid and this is the look I came up with.
All of the eyeshadows used were MAC.
Highlighter: Brule/Shroom
Lid: Humid
Crease: Carbon
To blend Humid with highlighter: All That Glitter
Liner: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
To complete the look, I wore a green scarf to bring out the green in my eyes. Although I love my neutrals, it really is pretty fun to experiment with fun bold colors either on the eyes or lips.
What non-neutral colors do you like to use on your eyes?

L’OCCITANE Green Tea Fizzy Sugar Cube
While I was at the airport on the way back home from my cruise, I was killing time looking around the random shops. I walked into L’OCCITANE just to look around when I discovered their green tea section. *Insert angel choir* Green/white tea is one of my favorite scents!! Sadly, since I was returning back from vacay (wallet a bit lighter than when I left) I decided to pass on the pricier body lotion/wash, BUT I did pick up 2 Fizzy Sugar Cubes. I was a little hesitant because I’ve been mainly using LUSH bath products, but I decided to give this a shot because first of all it’s only $3/each and secondly I prefer this scent over the LUSH products.
Today, I finally got the time to try one of these green tea fizzys out! The result? I LOVE IT!!! Although it looks pretty small in size (see picture next to MAC eyeshadow), it fizzed for quite a while!! It changed my bath water into a pretty jade/green color and the scent was AMAZING!! I felt so relaxed and warm in my beautyfull smelling bath. As I type right now, my skin still lingers of the green tea scent and feels nice and soft.
L’OCCITANE green tea fizzy sugar cube is definitely going to be a product that I always have in stock in the future. For only $3 you get an experience at par if not better than any LUSH bathbomb that is double the price.
I love it when I find a random product like this that I end up loving! Don’t you? What product have you recently fallen in love with?

Featuring: MAC Hang Up
My journey continues towards darker lip colors. Okay, this is probably the darkest lipstick that I will dare to own. Meet MAC’s Hang up. It’s a nice dark burgundy lip color and because it’s a cremesheen you can either wear it light or build up the color. What do you think? I’m still debating on whether I think that it’s sophisticated or gothic… What do you think?

Site Under Construction
It’s time for my site to be updated!
I’ll be making tweaks here and there this week so don’t mind the funny formatting. Thanks for your patience!

Bold Lips for Me?
I’ve always wanted to pull off a beautiful bold lip color but I’ve been too scared. Most of the lipsticks that I own are very sheer, light and nude. The couple of darker colors that I do own go unused. That is until I started shopping for my cruise. I thought that being on vacation would be a great excuse to try out some fun bold colors so here are a few shades that I got for the trip.
From left to right
$14.50 each at MAC or Nordstrom
MAC Chatterbox, Girl About Town & Hot Tahiti
I also picked up a couple lipliners during the past couple weeks. Turns out they are a lot more similar than I thought… might have to return one.
Top to bottom: MAC Cremestick Liner in Portside, MAC Lip Pencil in Burgundy
I really love Girl About Town. It’s a cool tone Magenta color that’s oh so fun!
I wore it on one of our formal nights on the cruise and I loved having bright bold lips. Here’s a picture from that night.
It’s definitely a special occasion shade so I’ll probably be using Hot Tahiti on a more regular basis.
And here is Hot Tahiti lined with Portside

Just a thought…
Last night, a friend of mine asked me if I ever did other girls’ makeup. The answer is no, I’ve never been confident in my makeup skills to play with someone else’s face. The conversation went on to “Well… what’s to lose if you mess up? If it turns out bad, they just have to wash it off and then it’s like nothing ever happened”. Hmmm…. good point! So I’m playing with the thought of asking some of my girl friends to be my experiment models. If it turns out bad, then I will kindly direct them to the nearest washroom. If it turns out well, I’ll take pictures and post it up for all to see, hehe.
Next note: I absolutely love being around makeup products. The beautiful colors, the different kinds of packaging, the different textures… what’s not to love? So what if my career revolved around the products that I love? Hm… would I love what I do? Or would what I love become work/an obligation?
Just some random thoughts…
